Package of Proposals on non-Gasified communities presented

To ensure thermo energy to Armenia’s non-gasified communities in the sidelines of assignement given by the Prime Minister of RA, Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Ministry worked out and sumbitted to the Government package of proposals on alternative solution of the issue.

Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Deputy Minister Hayk Harutyunyan said concrete proposal has been submitted for each community based on the carried out studies and calculations. The accent is particulalry made on application of solar photovoltaic pannels and water heaters, pallet boilers or heaters.

“The preference has first of all been given to the application of water heaters. It is the best and mutuially beneficial way of solution of hot water issue in non-gasified communities,” Hayk Harutyunyan said.

The application of water heaters is not the only way. For separate communities opportunities for their connection to the natural gas network are being considered. The issue has been discussed with Armenia’s gas supply company.

“The presented package of proposals will soon be discussed at the cabinet. After being approved the program implementation will launch. For it, though, quite long time and serious financial means will be needed. In any case, the Government treats the issue seriously and is ready for its gradual solution. Initially, the preference will be given to borderline communities,” Hayk Harutyunyan said.
