Armenia also participates in the International Energy Forum in Ashgabat

Armenia is also represented among about 50 countries of the world participating in the two-day conference of the International Energy Charter, which is being held in Turkmen capital Ashgabat. The official delegation of Armenia is headed by RA Deputy Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan.

Speaking at the conference on the topic "On the way to a multilateral framework agreement on the transit of energy resources", Hayk Harutyunyan said, that Armenia is ready to support energy transit security projects. He called on to focus on the idea that energy access is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right.

"Energy access is still a problem in many countries around the world. Transition of energy resources should be more versatile. All related projects should include the safety of transit of energy carriers"- said Hayk Harutyunyan.

He underlined that Armenia is ready to work with all countries of the world in the field of gas and electricity transit. "Now we are working to create a corridor between Iran, Georgia, Armenia and Russia".

During the visit to Ashgabat, the head of the Armenian delegation held separate meetings with Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Babayev, acting State Minister of State Concern "Turkmengas" Murad Archaev, as well as representatives of a number of other countries, including the partner organizations of Iran and Georgia.
