Ashot Manukyan Discussed Expected Projects in Energy Sector with IMF Representatives

On April 5, Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan received the International Monetary Fund delegation headed by the head of the Mission Hossein Samiei. At the meeting a wide range of issues of mutual interest has been discussed.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Manukyan highlighted the role of the IMF in the development of the energy system of Armenia and expressed hope that this cooperation will continue in future. At the request of the guests, Minister presented the current situation and development perspectives. Speaking about ANPP Unit 2 Lifetime Extension Program the minister stressed that it is expected to be completed within 3 years. The works will be completed in 2019. This will give an opportunity to operate the Unit 2 till 2017. At the guests' request the Minister presented also the process of the activities being carried out for the construction of new nuclear energy unit.

The sides touched upon the works implemented in the field of regional integration, the activities being implemented to increase the quality of the management and other projects being carried out in energy system.
