On February 17, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan has held a consultation in the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant to discuss the ANPP's operating term extension program.
As it is known, on February 5, in Moscow, was signed an Agreement on allocating the export loan to Armenia's government for the financing of nuclear power station's operation term prolonging works in the territory of RA, under which the Russian side will provide a preferential loan of 270 million US dollars and 30 million of US dollars as a grant: these funds will be used for the plant's operating unit extension.
On March 27, 2014, the RA government approved a plan to extend the period of operation of the ANPP, which is scheduled to be implemented in two phases.
After the signing of the agreements between the governments of the RA and RF, in the near future will be signed a framework agreement between the "ANPP" CJSC and "Rusatom Service" CJSC for the purpose of implementation of the second power unit operation term extension works.
-We must prepare the ANPP for the repair stop in spring of 2017, which will extend the operation of the plant until 2026,- said the Minister Yervand Zakharyan.
-As you know, between the Armenian and Russian governments have been signed the appropriate loan agreements already and we have clear responsibilities, that are required to execute and organize the preparatory works so, as to stop the station for repair in the spring of 2017, without any obstacles.
-Those works will be made mainly by "Rusatom Service" CJSC, together with you, - said the Minister.
During the consultation the ANPP administration has introduced the preliminary works done under the program and the measures to be implemented in 2015.
There was introduced the process of the activities directed to the second energy block safety increasing in details.
