On May 25, RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Artur Grigoryan had a working visit to Armavir region.
The Minister toured the atomic station, got acquainted with the current work of the ANPP, the results of production-economic activity, as well as the process of measures undertaken to extend the term of the second unit.
After the tour, RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Arthur Grigoryan and General Director of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant CJSC Movses Vardanyan answered journalists' questions.
Under the leadership of the minister, a working consultation was also held at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant dedicated to the programs implemented to increase the safety of the nuclear power plant, as well as the works envisaged by the program of extension and modernization of the 2nd unit of the nuclear power plant. The head of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant and the engineering staff took part in the consultation.
Another issue on the agenda was the program of modernization. According to the executives, in the second stage, it is planned to carry out replacements of devices and equipment. During the consultation, a number of organizational issues were also touched upon, in which relevant recommendations were given.
It should be noted that planned precautionary repairs of the second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant have started, within the framework of which օn April 14, the 4th turbine unit of the power unit was stopped. It is envisaged to carry out the reconstruction and modernization of the turbine unit.
The reactor and turbine aggregate N3 will be stopped on June 1. It is planned that the second reactor of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant will be restarted on August 1, at the same time with the 4th turboggregate, and the 3rd turboggregate will be put into operation on November 13, the power unit will reach maximum capacity on December 1.
