Delegation headed by RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources, co-chair of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation Ashot Manukyan paid a working visit to capital Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on March 20-21.
RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan and State Minister of Turkmenistan Mirat Archaev discussed with the members of the commission the process of fulfillment of the agreements reached during the 8th sitting of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and the upcoming plans.
The sides stressed with satisfaction the opening of Ashgabat-Yerevan direct flight and the real opportunities for promoting tourism as a result of regular flights and highlighting the increase of flights. They also touched upon the expansion of commodity turnover between the two countries, export incentives, exchange programs for students and athletes.
During the meeting the sides discussed the opportunities for the delivery and exchange of natural gas and electricity and the trilateral cooperation of Armenia, Iran and Turkmenistan.
The ministers of the two countries also discussed the agenda of the next sitting of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation and possible dates for holding in 2018 in Ashgabat.
