Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of RA Ashot Manukyan received on June 23 the Asian Development Bank Delegation to Armenia led by ADB Director General for Central and West Asia Sean O’Sullivan. Head of the ADB Office in Yerevan Shane Rosenthal partook the meeting.
In the course of the meeting the participants discussed the projects carried out in the energy sphere and further opportunities for cooperation.
Greeting the guests Ashot Manukyan hailed the role of the ADB in assisting economic and energy system development of Armenia. “Asian Development Bank is one of the biggest investors in Armenia. The investments made by the ADB are of strategic significance for the development of our country’s economy. I am convinced that this cooperation will continue in future as well,” the Minister stressed.
Ashot Manukyan presented to the members of the delegation the process of the projects carried out with the ADB in the energy sphere, referred to the steps carried out for the liberalization of the electricity market.
The participants also underlined the necessity of steps for boosting state-private sector cooperation. Opportunities for making investments in a number of companies of the sphere were also discussed during the meeting.
ADB Director General for Central and West Asia Sean O’Sullivan expressed bank’s readiness to enhance cooperation and provide additional assistance to Armenia.
The meeting passed in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. The parties expressed readiness to view opportunities of cooperation in all the discussed projects.
