On March 14, the 8th session of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was launched in Yerevan under the co chairmanship of 2 cochairs Ashot Manukyan, the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia and Charimirat Purchekov, the Minister of Energy of Turmenistan. The two-day session is attended by the commission members, as well as officials from the Ministries and Departments of both countries.
Opening the session, Ashot Manukyan, the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources stressed the necessity of deepening and expanding the bilateral trade-economic relations.
"The 8th session of Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation once again confirms the intention of both sides to further deepen relations between two states. We intend to implement not only the planned projects, but also consider long-term cooperation projects. I am confident that we can make full use of the economic potential for the benefit of our countries and peoples".
In the agenda of 8th session of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission a number of issues related to different fields of economy are included. Issues on trade and economic relations, legal framework development, fuel-energy complex, agriculture, education and science, cultural-humanitarian cooperation will be discussed. The implementation of projects planned at the previous session, the process of works carried out will be touched upon. A memorandum of the 8th Session of Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission between the Republic of Armenia and Turkmenistan will be signed at the end of the session.
