The Works on ANPP Unit 2 Lifetime Extension Program Discussed

On December 2, Ashot Manukyan, the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia received Kiril Komarov, First Deputy CEO of “Rosatom” company and Yevgeny Salkov, General Director of ''Rusatom Service'' JSC during their visit to Armenia to take part in the third session of Armenian-Russian Joint Coordinating Committee in the frameworks of ANPP Unit 2 Lifetime Extension Program.

At the meeting the issues regarding ANPP Unit 2 Lifetime Extension Program have been discussed. The sides touched upon the process of the implementing works and future activities.

It was noted that the measures of the first phase have been successfully completed. The works for implementing the next phase are being carried out. Taking into consideration the significance of ANPP for the Republic of Armenia energy system the necessity of implementing the activities as scheduled has been underlined.

The lifetime extension program is implemented within loan of $ 270 million and grant funds of $30 million provided by the Government of the Russian Federation.
