Fund Digitization will Help to Increase the Investment Attractiveness of Mining Industry

To ensure the information availability and affordability of the mining industry existing data digitizing works in "Republican Geological Fund" were started in the "Republican Geological Fund". It is expected to complete them in the next year.

According to Shushanik Kerobyan, the head of the Mineral Resources and Geology Division of the Mining Department of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources the necessary equipment to implement digitalizing works was purchased and installed in the "Republican Geological Fund" with the assistance of US Agency for International Development (USAID). Although the works started in the second half of this year, more than 51 % of existing fund materials has been already digitalized. They are available to everyone at www.geo-fund.am website created for this purpose.

Digitalizing works of Materials existing in the passports of mineral mines and displays consistently continue to be implemented and the process is ahead of planned schedule.

According to Sh. Kerobyan, ensuring availability and affordability of information kept in the "Republican Geological Fund" will have a positive impact on investment attractiveness. The investors will have an opportunity to get acquainted online with the data base existing in the fund and submit their own interests without wasting time and means.
