On November 17, Ashot Manukyan, the Minister of energy infrastructure and natural resources received H.E. Mr. Jean-Francois Charpentier, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia. The issues regarding the Armenian-French cooperation in energy and water sectors were discussed.
Congratulating Ashot Manukyan on his appointment, the Ambassador touched upon the importance of the deepening and enhancing the bilateral cooperation in the economic field. Mr. Jean-Francois Charpentier informed the Minister that some French companies are interested in energy sector of Armenia, particularly in solar, wind and geothermal energy.
Welcoming the intentions of the French companies, the Minister noted that renewable energy field is one of the priorities of the Government of Armenia. The role of both solar, wind and geothermal energies are very important in energy production sector. Armenia is interested in attracting bilateral private investments in these spheres.
At the meeting the sides touched upon the Armenian-French cooperation in the water economy projects and upcoming developments.
