On November 9, Ashot Manukyan, the Minister of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources of Armenia received H.E. Mr. Piotr Świtalski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, head of the EU delegation to Armenia.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister Manukyan, highlighted importance of the European Partnership Program, Armenia-EU cooperation, expressing confidence that it will deepen and strengthen. Ambassador Świtalski congratulated the Minister on his appointment and noted that the EU and Armenia are important partners in the energy field. The European Union is willing to participate in both Republic of Armenia and regional projects.
Within the framework of EU-Armenia cooperation the Minister underlined the importance of the support provided to Armenia in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, stressing that the EU's role in terms of ensuring the operational safety of ANPP is invaluable. There are already some agreements on financing the activities related to the implemented stress test.
At the meeting the sides also touched upon energy projects, the perspectives and developments of regional cooperation and underlined the importance of the EU4 Energy program, which is the continuation of the already completed INOGATE program.
