The European Union has joined the investment package of implementation <The Caucasian transmission network> construction project. For this purpose, under the Neighbourhood Investment Instrument of the EU Commission, it has provided 10 million EUR grant.
The <Caucasian Transmission Network>’s construction project is strategically important for the Armenia's energy system. It is scheduled to connect Armenian and Georgian energy systems.
It will stimulate the development of the regional north-south (Russia-Georgia-Armenia-Iran) mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, as well as to create preconditions for the organization of parallel work of the energy systems of CIS countries.
The project is planned to be realized in several stages. At the same time, the bidding packages’ preparation process for the selection of the main contractor for implementation of the program comes to an end.
