The EU is Ready to Continue Cooperation in Energy Sphere

On March 15, t he RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources L. Yolyan received the Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski. Congratulating the Minister on the appointment the Ambassador mentioned that the cooperation with Armenia in the energy sphere, to which the European Union attaches great importance, will be continued.

Head of EU Delegation to Armenia said, that after the completion of the EU INOGATE program the support providing to the Countries of the Eastern Partnership, including to the Armenia's energy sector will be continued. With this purpose on March 17, 2016, in Brussels will host a high level conference on Energy Industry, with participation of the European Commission and the European Union's Eastern Counterpart Countries.

The Minister of the Energy and Natural Resources L. Yolyan thanked the Ambassador for the support provided to Armenian energy sector by the EU.
In the  terms of the regional cooperation there was stressed especially the importance of Armenia-Georgia 400 kV high voltage line construction, to which the European Union has made its contribution, in the form of 10 million Euros grant funds from the NIF Fund.
L. Yolyan expressed readiness from now on to continue close cooperation with the European Union.
