The Armenian-Iranian Joint Projects’ Implementation Process was been Discussed

On October 3-5, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan has visited the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the visit, the Minister has held meetings with the Iranian Energy Minister, the co-chair of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission Hamid Chitchian, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangane, the chairman of the Iran's Export Development Bank Ali Salehabadi.

The parties have discussed the Armenian-Iranian Joint Projects’ implementation process  in the energy sector, in particular, the issue of increasing  of the  Iran-Armenia gas-electricity exchange volumes after the  construction of  of Iran-Armenia high-voltage 3-rd power transmission line,  since 2018.

There were discussed also the issues  associated with  Meghri HPP project,  as well as, the issues relating to  the gasification program of  Meghri and Agarak regions, due to the grant funds provided by the Government of Iran.

The Minister Zakharyan has also met with the CEO of company SUNIR Salehi, the  general contractor of the construction of Iran-Armenia 400 kV power transmission line.

The Minister has stressed the importance of the issues of carrying out of the construction works according to the schedule and completing of the construction of the power transmission line within the time limited.
