On July 14, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan has received the first Resident Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi.
The Minister has congratulated and wished success to Eiji Taguchi for starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Yervand Zakharyan has mentioned with satisfaction, that with the support of the Japanese government a number of projects important for the energy sphere have been implemented with high productivity in the energy system of Armenia, particularly, the construction project of the combined-cycle power plant of Yerevan, the projects of the investment of SCADA communication system and the rehabilitation of 110 KV substations.
The Minister has presented the current situation of energy system, the development prospects and the investment plans at the Ambassador's request.
Yervand Zakharyan has informed also, that the negotiations are currently underway with the Japanese International Development Agency on the construction of the second combined-cycle unit of Yerevan TPP.
The Ambassador Eiji Taguchi has mentioned in his turn, that it is a great honor for him to work in Armenia and has highlited the fact, that the energy sphere is one of the successful spheres of the Armenian-Japanese economic cooperation.
