The ANPP’s Operation Term Extension Works are Carried out According to the Schedule

The news circulated in the media, that some problems have been arisen in the process of compiling of the package of documents necessary for the reconstruction of the existing Armenian nuclear plant, are not true.

The RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources assures, that the operation term renewal process by 10 years of the Armenian NPP is carried out according to the schedule.

Moreover, there are no problems with 270 million US dollars of loan and the 30 million dollars grant provided by the Russian Government for these activities.

To inform, that the Treaty on "Supply of goods, services provision and implementation of works for the extention of the second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant" was initialed between the ANPP and the "Rusatom Service" (General Contractor), on June 1, in Moscow, which is in the near future, after being approved by the Governing Council of the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, will be submitted to the RA and the RF Ministries of Finance for the approval.

We also inform, that the first, equipments condition assessment phase of the overhaul of the ANPP is already in progress in parallel with the documentation process, implementing by the specialists of nuclear power plant and "Rusatom Service".
