On December 19, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan has met with the representatives of the Development Credit Bank /KFW Bank/ Eva Witt, Lars Oerman and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Rainer Morel.
The Minister thanked the KFW Bank representatives for cooperation and programs implemented in Armenia, in particular, for the successfully and completed within the prescribed period "Gyumri-2> substation reconstruction program, of the capacity 220 kV.
There has been discussed the opportunity of parallel implementation of the 2nd phase of the Armenian-Georgian high-voltage transmission line construction project with the first phase /the contract is signed recently/ during the meeting with the representatives of the bank.
The KFW Bank's representatives have expressed a positive stance on this issue, noting that thus will have been optimized the costs intended for that program.
The participants of the meeting have noted that the construction of the Armenia-Georgia electricity transmission line will enable to reach the flows of exchange to 700 MW, besides it will allow Armenia's energy system to work in parallel with the energy systems of Georgia and Iran.
The construction of the Armenia-Georgia electricity transmission line is scheduled to start in 2015 and finish until 2018.
The Minister Yervand Zakharyan noted that the construction projects of Armenia-Georgia high-voltage transmission line, as well as, the Iran-Armenia 3-rd high-voltage line, will attach a new quality to the process of integration to the regional energy systems.
