The member of staff of the official delegation of Georgia, visited in Armenia by the invitation of the RA Prime Minister, was the Georgian Energy Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Kakha Qaladze.
On August 21, in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was held a meeting of Georgian and Armenian Ministers.
After the meeting, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan said, that they have discussed the prospects and challenges of two countries' cooperation in the energy sector with his Georgian partner.
He has noted, that one of the upcoming most important projects is power supply volumes increase program between Armenia and Georgia, according to which the current 200 megawatts capacity will be possible to up to 700 megawatts, due to the 400 kV high-voltage power line, which will be constructed, and the constant power inset.
The Minister also stressed the importance of the energy cooperation experience in the emergency situations terms between two countries, and thanked for the Georgian side's aid during the pipeline accidents.
In fact, Georgia has recently held a power supply failure, during which Armenia, in its turn, could help the neighboring country.
Georgian Energy Minister thanked the Armenian partners for cooperation and stressed the importance of Armenia–Georgia energy relations.
He has noted, that there is a great potential to expand cooperation and both sides are working to develop them.
