Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources to introduce newly appointed Minister Garegin Baghramyan.
The Premier first thanked outgoing Minister Arthur Grigoryan for cooperation and wished him every success in his future activities, noting that a great deal of work had been done together. Congratulating newly appointed Minister Garegin Baghramyan, the Prime Minister noted that he had been holding the post of Deputy Minister and was well aware of the work done so far at the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources. The Premier underscored that the tasks were going to be the same, as a whole.
"Our biggest challenge is to get the energy system in particular, and the natural resource management system, in general, to work more effectively. In this regard, we can state that we have already entered the practical stage. Why can we now consider it the way I said? Because the recent months’ main issue was to formulate a common understanding with our international counterparts so that we could agree upon the ways of increasing efficiency in this area, and all this could be done in an atmosphere of complete understanding.
During this time, we managed to deal with several projects that were endangered, and reach agreements, which were exclusively focused on individual projects’ efficiency. We also face serious problems in the field of water resources management both in terms of energy and logistics. Here, too, we are facing serious challenges that must be overcome,” the Premier Minister said.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, these challenges will be addressed definitely. “Our government has the support of 92 percent of the vast majority of our people, and this atmosphere should be used to get specific political, economic and financial results. Energy and natural resources are among those areas where our country needs a real breakthrough.”
Former Minister Arthur Grigoryan thanked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for joint work and went on to note that the ministry team had done everything during his tenure to achieve the goals set by the Prime Minister.
Newly appointed Minister Garegin Baghramyan thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for high trust. According to him, there are a lot of problems in this area, but a professional team has been formed at the ministry, and maximum effort will be made to ensure the reliable work of all departments and the sustainable development of the energy system.
Summing up the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted, “The most important issue is to mobilize the professional potential in this industry, regardless of political orientation, political past or professional activity in order to work out and implement new development programs, and I am convinced that there are no impediments to do so. I think that cooperation should be the key formula for building our future. Political processes, disagreements and misinterpretations should not prevent us from collaborating for the sake of our country. We are looking for cooperation schemes in any situation, and we will find them indeed. So, let me wish every success to all of us."
