Meeting with mining industry representatives

Under the RA Prime Minister's order, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Vardan Gevorgyan had a meeting with specialists of the Ministry and members of the Union of Miners and Metallurgists of Armenia.

A number of issues requiring urgent solutions in the mining industry have been discussed.

The subsoil users have presented the issues of the sphere, stressing the need to attract investments and engage in activities without barriers.

The participants have emphasized the importance of forming a positive public opinion on the mining industry and have mentioned that it is necessary to make explanatory works, speeches, organize press conferences.

Representatives of mining companies said that most of the mining companies were the largest taxpayers and employers, so any deviation from normal work adversely would affect the development of the country's economy and would lead to reduction of budget payments.

Through the state-society dialogue the subsoil users expect to contribute organizing the normal work of one of the pivotal branches of the economy.
