All the necessary conditions for installation of small autonomous solar power stations exist in Armenia. After the legislative changes made to the respective legislation physical and juridical persons can install solar autonomous stations with capacity of up to 150 kW to produce electricity to meet their own needs and the surplus can be sold to the "Electric Networks of Armenia" company. For this process not only a license is required but also the whole process is tax-exempt.
According to Hayk Badalyan, the head of the Renewable Energy and Energy Savings Department of the ministry of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources of Armenia, Public Services Regulatory Commission recently approved the contract model of the connection of autonomous stations to electric network and the reimbursement procedure. Thus, there are no longer any obstacles in order to satisfy their own needs up to 150 kW for solar power stations and autonomous operation.
An application submitted by the consumer will be necessary to connect to the network. Based on this, the Connection Agreement is signed according which the network connects the new consumer.
After that, according to Hayk Badalyan, multitariff electronic reverse meters are installed, the purchase and service issues of which are regulated by the electrical energy supply and usage rules regulated by Public Services Regulatory Commission.
