Within the framework of regional cooperation Armenia and Georgia are implementing works for the harmonization of the legal frameworks for the settlement of cross-border mutual energy supplies between the electric energy systems. For that purpose, on June 9-10, the Armenia-Georgia joint working group’s meeting held in Tbilisi.
During the meeting, the sides referred to the issues related to the expansion actions of capacities directed at supporting the simplification of electricity trading arrangements and mechanisms between the two countries, carried out in the framework of USAID program.
For the purpose of organization of mutually beneficial trade of electricity between Armenia and Georgia, there were observed possible mechanisms and legal issues related to the harmonization of regulations.
There has been reached an agreement to provide information necessary for the development of joint action plan.
The next meeting of the Armenia-Georgia joint working group scheduled to be held in October this year, in Yerevan.
