Armenia and Belarus to Cooperate in the Field of Nuclear Energy

An Agreement on "Cooperation for Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus" has been signed on February 19 within the framework of the 12th session of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation. The document has been signed by Areg Galstyan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Recourses of the Republic of Armenia and Mikhail Mikhadyuk, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus.

The Agreement gives new opportunities for the cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus in the field of Nuclear Energy. This will serve as legal basis for the implementation of plans and projects which will provide mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, for raising the level of safety of the nuclear energy, for preparing and training candidates in the higher educational institutions and training centers of both countries according to the agreed programs, for the investment and implementation of separate projects within the framework of the cooperation.
