The Minister Hosted the Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus

On February 18 the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan hosted the Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus Republic Mikhail Ivanovich Mikhadyuk.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister introduced the programs which are being carried out in Armenia's energy sector in particular, in the fields of nuclear energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency. The Minister informed, that Armenia is going to build a new nuclear power unit with 600 MW power by 2027, but before that some steps are taken for the extension of the exploitation of the current energy block up to 2027.

Taking into consideration the fact, that a new nuclear power station is being built in Belarus, the interlocutors discussed the issues of nuclear energy, highlighting the importance of cooperation especially in the fields of cadre trainings, exchange of experience and normative technology. 

The interlocutors also touched upon the topic of the agreement which will be signed on February 19, in the 12th session of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on the cooperation of the peaceful use of nuclear energy which will be held in Yerevan.

At the end of the meeting Mikhail Ivanovich Mikhadyuk invited the Minister Zakharyan to the Republic of Belarus to get acquainted with the country's energy system.
