Information Regarding the Results of the Implementation of RA Government’s 2015 Еvents' Program and the Prior Problems by the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources

4 events were included in the 2015 annual events’ program of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the sphere of  Energy and Natural Resources, 3 of which were introduced and accepted by the Government with the established procedure, while one was moved into 2016.

82 decisions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Vice-President of Armenia and 3 decision making protocols were accepted with the proposal of the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in 2015. 6 law projects were introduced.

Regional Integration

The implementation of the work of building an Iran-Armenia 400 kW air power transmission line

The financing of the project has been re-launched through discussions and negotiations since 2015 September. According to the schedule of the implementation of the project the construction of the Iran-Armenia 400 kW air power transmission line is expected to be finished within 24 months. The transmission of the needed devices, equipment and materials to Armenia has been launched. The process of changing the categories of soil and acquiring part of them with the right of a property continued with regional administrations, communities and other stakeholders. In the area of “Noravan” substation the geodesic work of the basement of the gate and the smoothing of the area of the substation are finished.

The launch of the project of Georgia-Armenia 400 kW air power transmission line: the organization of the selection process of the consultant:

178 million Euros was attracted in the framework of the signed loan agreement with the purpose of the implementation of the first 2 stages of the project. An EU investment grant in the amount of 10 million Euros is also expected. The results of the selection process of the consultant were announced during the accounting year within the framework of the project.

The implementation of the extension of the operation term of the N2 energy unit of the Armenian nuclear plant:

To finance the extension of the operation term of the Armenian nuclear plant, a crediting deal was signed with Russia on February 5, 2015, which was enforced on May 12.

The activities of the extension of the operation term of the Armenian nuclear plant and the joint examination of equipments have been launched and they are planned to be finished by September of 2016. An examination of more than 4500 equipment will be implemented.

A technical audit will be carried out after the joint examination of the systems, equipment and buildings of the first stage.

The implementation of preparatory activities of geothermal project within the framework of Scaling-up Renewable Energy program, coordination of preparatory activities of the well drilling for the determination of primary energy carrying parameters at Kankar geothermal site according to the schedule:

The agreement signed between the Republic of Armenia and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) within the framework of the grant in the amount of 8.55 Million dollars regarding the implementation of “Geothermal Exploratory Drilling Project” was validated with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia on July 21, 2015.

The construction works of nearby rout and drilling platform have started, which go on according to the schedule. A competition has been announced for digging narrow wells.

Conformity of the coordinate system of the lithosphere areas supplied with the right of Mineral Resource Management to the to the WGS-84 global geodesic coordinate system.

453 Mineral Resource Management rights were conformed to the ARM WGS-84 global geodesic coordinate system. 18 rights for geological examination and 9 rights for exploitation of mineral recourses have been granted.
