5th session of Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Energy, Transport, Environment, Climate and Civil Defense to be held in Yerevan

The fifth session of the EU-Armenia Subcommittee on Energy, Transport, Environment, Climate and Civil Defense will be held in Yerevan on January 30-31, 2018. The meeting is hosted by the RA Ministry of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources. The Armenian side is comprised of representatives of the Ministries of International Economic Integration and Reform, Foreign Affairs, Natural protecton, Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, Emergency Situations﹐ as well as representatives of the General Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Armenia, the State Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committee, the Public Services Regulatory Commission and the Armenian NPP. The EU is participating in the session by the European External Action Service, as well as relevant representatives of the European Commission Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Energy, Environment, Climate Operations and Transport Directorates.

This session is one of the regular meetings between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union aimed at discussing a number of issues related to cooperation in the relevant fields.

The session is particularly important because it follows the signing of the Comprehensive and Advanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), November 24, 2017. The parties will discuss Armenia's programs in line with the EU norms in relevant fields, which will be in the interests of Armenian citizens.

The EU is ready to support Armenia through technical assistance and capacity-building programs to support the implementation of the agreement.
